Charges: Felony 5th Degree Drug Possession – Probation Violation
Court: Hennepin County
Hearing Type: Contested probation violation hearing
Outcome: Client was facing an entry of a felony drug conviction and a substantial jail sentence after a probation violation with a new allegation of a large, felony amount of marijuana. Through Attorney Grostyan’s motions to suppress the evidence based on an unconstitutional traffic stop, Attorney Grostyan persuaded the prosecution to continue Client’s prior probation under the same terms and conditions. Due to Attorney Grostyan’s aggressive defense, Client avoided a new felony drug conviction, additional jail, and fines. Additionally, the previous felony drug charges will be dismissed and Client will be eligible to have the record sealed after the probation period expires. This case also involved a vehicle seizure related to a drug arrest and Attorney Grostyan was able to negotiate the return of Client’s vehicle.
