Outcome: Client was facing up to one year in jail and $3,000 fine. Coley Grostyan negotiated a continuance for dismissal where the criminal charge will be DISMISSED after one year. Client will be eligible to have all records related to case sealed.
- Charges: Felony Theft
Court: Carver County
Outcome: Client was facing a felony theft conviction. Coley Grostyan negotiated a plea agreement where Client pled guilty to one of the two felony charges with NO JAIL. Additionally, the conviction will be reduced to a misdemeanor conviction after completing probation. Attorney Grostyan also negotiated a significant reduction in amount of restitution Client was required to repay for the theft.

- Charges: Two counts of Felony 5th Degree Drug Possession
Court: Hennepin County
Outcome: Client was facing a felony drug conviction which would have resulted in a public record jeopardizing future career aspirations. By way of Attorney Grostyan’s negotiation strategy, client served no additional jail time, avoided a felony drug conviction, and escaped a license revocation for possession of drugs in a motor vehicle. Coley Grostyan also negotiated the return of Client’s car that was seized when Client was arrested. Because Client avoided a conviction, he will be able to seal his record after completing probation.

Outcome: The court DISMISSED the restraining order after Attorney Grostyan’s successful cross-examination and a persuasive closing argument.

- Case Type: Vehicle Forfeiture and Plate Impoundment from DWI arrest
Court: Hennepin County
Outcome: Attorney Grostyan was able to convince the prosecutor to abandon the vehicle forfeiture. Attorney Grostyan also successfully persuaded Driver Vehicle Services to rescind the license plate impoundment. Client’s vehicle was returned to him and new license plates will be issued at no cost.

Hearing Type: Pretrial Hearing
Outcome: Attorney Grostyan negotiated a stay of imposition for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, where the conviction will be vacated and dismissed after one year of successful probation. The domestic assault charge was dismissed. Client avoided a jail sentence and paid no fines.
